FAQ
The honest answers.
No fine print games. If something here isn’t clear, that’s on us — tell us and we’ll fix the wording.
Is it really free?
Yes. Splitting bills, balances, and the core budgeting are free — no ads, no paywalled basics. Being genuinely free is the whole reason Recfinly exists.
Then how will you make money?
Later, and only through optional premium extras — things like advanced tax help. The core money tools stay free. We’ll never charge you to split a bill or check your own spending.
Does Recfinly hold, send, or verify my payments?
No. Recfinly records who owes what and reminds people to settle. It is not a wallet, bank, or payment provider. You and your friends move the money yourselves — bank transfer, DuitNow, or cash — and mark it as paid.
How is this different from other split apps?
Two ways. First, the split features that others cap or paywall are free and unlimited here. Second, splitting is only half of it — Recfinly also helps you budget and stop overspending, so it earns a place beyond the group trip.
Can friends use it without downloading the app?
Yes. A guest link lets people see the split and what they owe in a browser, no account required. They can claim their spot and sign up later if they want.
Is my data safe?
Your data is hosted in-region and handled to comply with Malaysia’s PDPA. We collect only what’s needed to run the app, and we don’t sell your data. The waitlist stores just your email, used only to tell you when access opens.
Which country and currency does it support?
Malaysia first, in ringgit (RM), with English worldwide. More localisation comes later.
When can I start using it?
Access is opening in stages. Join the early list and we’ll email you the moment your spot is ready — you’ll also help shape what gets built next.
Still curious? Get in early.
Join the list and see it for yourself when access opens.
